Corelink completes GSB Training and Forestry Timber Traceability system development.

Corelink Consulting is excited to announce that a team of seven of our developers has successfully completed an intensive six-month training program to become a Certified Government Service Bus (GSB) Development Team. This dedicated team has immediately applied their new skills to successfully re-engineer the Forestry Department's platform on the GSB, introducing a critical Timber Traceability System.

The project was launched to address the increasing need for transparency and sustainable practices within Zambia's timber industry. Our team enhanced five of the largest revenue-generating services in the Forestry department, including Concession Licences, Tree Felling Permits, and Timber Export Permits, to provide full traceability from forest to export.

To achieve this, Corelink integrated two major technical enhancements:

  • A new Android Mobile Application for forestry field officers to perform tasks like digital tree marking, in-field verification, and conveyance tracking at checkpoints.

  • Advanced Geographic Information System (GIS) functionality allowing applicants and officers to precisely map concession boundaries and pinpoint individual trees using coordinates.

This advanced training and development program was made possible through a grant sponsored by dotGov solutions.

With the system enhancements complete, this project provides Forestry with powerful new tools for resource management and regulatory compliance. Corelink is now proceeding with user training and preparing for the full deployment of the new services. This achievement highlights our team's capability to deliver complex, high-impact digital solutions on the national Government Service Bus platform.
